A "𝐒𝐈𝐋𝐄𝐍𝐓 𝐀𝐏𝐏𝐎𝐈𝐍𝐓𝐌𝐄𝐍𝐓" at a salon is when the client opts for minimal conversation with his/her hairstylist. Here are some reasons why a client may prefer this:𝐑𝐄𝐋𝐀𝐗𝐀𝐓𝐈𝐎𝐍: Some clients view their salon time as a form of relaxation or 'me time'. The lack of conversation can help them unwind and enjoy the process more.𝐈𝐍𝐓𝐑𝐎𝐕𝐄𝐑𝐒𝐈𝐎𝐍 𝐎𝐑 𝐒𝐎𝐂𝐈𝐀𝐋 𝐀𝐍𝐗𝐈𝐄𝐓𝐘: For those who are introverted or have social anxiety, maintaining small talk can be stressful. Silent appointments offer a comfortable space for them to get their hair done.𝐀𝐕𝐎𝐈𝐃 𝐃𝐈𝐒𝐓𝐑𝐀𝐂𝐓𝐈𝐎𝐍𝐒: Clients may want to ensure that the stylist concentrates solely on their hair, without the potential distractions of conversation.𝐏𝐑𝐎𝐃𝐔𝐂𝐓𝐈𝐕𝐈𝐓𝐘: Some people may wish to read, work, or engage in other activities during their salon visit, and prefer silence to do so.𝐍𝐄𝐄𝐃 𝐅𝐎𝐑 𝐒𝐈𝐋𝐄𝐍𝐂𝐄: In today's busy world, moments of quiet can be rare. Some people might value the opportunity for silent contemplation. Some of my clients like quiet appointments for different reasons. If you want to check emails, read a book, or just chill, just let me know what you prefer. This is YOUR time and it's all about what makes you comfortable.Love,NathalieHair Extension Specialist & Educatorwww.extensionista.com

🌈 Mood • Dressing~ it’s a real thing!💜 Did you know that colours can have a direct impact on your mood? Yep, it’s not just colour analysis of what shades work for your season but also how you can use them in your favour when you need a little boost.💙 I’m not feeling 100% today (no need to DM me hun, I’m fine 💁🏼♀️) and coupled with this bitter cold snap this morning it would’ve been so easy for me to just grab anything, which also would likely to be duller in colour and mope around all day.❤️ Not today Satan. I picked out some of my brightest and cosiest pieces adding a pop of my fave lipstick and gloss, and do you know what. I do genuinely feel brighter! Both figuratively and literally!💖 Red and Pink can be seen as energising and that’s exactly what I needed.🌈 What colour are you wearing today?#colourpsychology#colouranalysis#fashionpsychology#stylecoach

216 Tones When Devyn and I talked about doing a test in studio, we decided to use a jumble of color and dramatic lighting to see what we could come up with. The morning of, as we waiting for our model to show, we wrestled with what we were doing; feeling it had been over done. On whim, we flipped the script and decided to play with skin tone.So consider the faces you see here and the sculptured element of layered of foundation covering their natural tones. There are 216 tones in my makeup kit. The possibilities of creating more tones by mixing are truly endless, making it easy to get it right. This is a story of getting it wrong. In my experience as a MUA many people of color will bring in their own makeup kit to a shoot. This, unfortunately, has been because they have experienced the inexperience of many MUA not having a full understanding of skin tone. Embarrassingly, I have been that artist. In my start, I have sent some ashy skin to set. I can remember cringing every time the lights popped off. I could see it clearly. I cringe now just thinking of it. As creatives, there is nothing worse than putting out bad work we can’t take back. In order to get it right I learned that the process must begin with an honest conversation and the vulnerable act of admitting ignorance. I went for it. As a result, I had several very beautiful and generous colorful women help me understand their approach to their skin. In that process what I learned was that by only looking at race I was unintentionally building a barrier that can block understanding. I was stuck only seeing our differences and frankly, that was intimidating. In reality, we are all just apart of the color wheel. So I went back to basics and begin to approach the tones differently. I love watching deep oranges soak seamlessly into a rick chocolate brown and balance the skin. Or the lightest of cool pinks making a pale face porcelain. I am so thankful for those who patiently helped me gain new understanding. Our models willingness to not be made conventionally beautiful was appreciated. Ironically, what they gave us was unexpected beauty by being vulnerable and honest. The very requirements of getting it right.

Listen up gents..While our studio is renowned for capturing the elegance and strength of women, we certainly don't shy away from turning the lens towards the gents out there. Every face has a story to tell, and it's our passion to bring those tales to life.If you're a gentleman looking to elevate your game with a polished, GQ-style portrait, here are a few insider tips you won't find just anywhere:1️⃣ Embrace Your Personal Style: This goes beyond choosing the right suit. It's about the watch, the tie, the cufflinks. These details often convey your personality more than the suit itself. Even consider your glasses if you wear them. Think about the image you want to project and choose accessories that fit that narrative.2️⃣ Experiment with Facial Expressions: The camera loves a bit of drama. Practise different facial expressions in the mirror - it may feel strange initially, but knowing how to shift your look subtly can truly transform an image. From a power smile to a thoughtful gaze, bring out the various dimensions of your personality.3️⃣ The Art of Posing: It's not all about standing straight. Play with angles and remember that turning slightly can create a more dynamic and flattering shot. Using props, like a chair or your glasses, can also add a touch of class and intrigue.4️⃣ Don't Shy Away from Grooming: Just like women, men can benefit from a bit of pampering pre-shoot. Whether that's a professional shave, a fresh haircut or even a bit of concealer, don't shy away. It can make a significant difference in the final shot.5️⃣ Relax and Enjoy the Experience: It's not every day you have a professional photo session. Embrace the moment, have fun with it and let your confidence shine through - it’s as attractive as the perfect suit.So men, are you ready to redefine your image, GQ style? We're here to create the best images of you that anyone has ever seen. Let's do this!Tap the link in the comments for more information. #work #mensportrait #personalbranding #cincinnati

How to refresh your style 2024So here goes! I’m sharing my first tips video on LinkedIn to help you get some style inspiration and lay the foundations for a successful wardrobe in 2024. Some tips for putting together your 2024 style mood board:- ⭐️ Don’t overthink it. Go with your gut instinct as there’s no right or wrong⭐️ Don’t limit yourself to clothing. Include sunsets, paintings, food and any image you are drawn to⭐️ Pinterest is a great tool to do this ( I use this method) but you glue pages from mags if you prefer⭐️ If you’re struggling to start, look at the online ‘look books’ and outfit pictures of your favourite brands⭐️ Have fun with it. It beats doing your tax return…..doesn’t it?!
